Kybella® CONVENIENTLY LOCATED TO SERVE PHILADELPHIA

WHAT IS KYBELLA®?

KYBELLA® (deoxycholic acid) injection is the first and only FDA-approved injectable treatment that contours and improves the appearance of submental fullness, sometimes referred to as “double chin”.

Unlike surgical solutions like liposuction or a neck lift, KYBELLA® requires no scalpels or incisions. It also does not require weeks of frustrating and painful downtime. Instead, KYBELLA® injections are very convenient and do not derail patients’ schedules.

YOUR CONSULTATION

During a consultation, you and Dr. Hoffman will design a treatment plan tailored to help you improve your chin profile. In order to do this effectively, Dr. Hoffman will first ask you about your goals for the procedure. He will then examine your submental region. Photos may be taken for comparison purposes.

Dr. Hoffman will ask you about your complete medical history, including allergies and any medications or supplements you are taking. He will also tell you about the details of the KYBELLA® treatment process, including preparation and aftercare.

YOUR TREATMENT SESSION

A KYBELLA® treatment session typically only takes 15 to 20 minutes. During your treatment sessions, a local anesthetic will first be administered in order to numb the area.

KYBELLA® will then be injected into the fat under your chin using multiple injections. Many patients experience visible results in 2 to 4 treatment sessions. Up to 6 treatment sessions may be administered spaced no less than one month apart.

AFTER YOUR KYBELLA® TREATMENT

Swelling, bruising, numbness and mild discomfort can be expected following your treatment. These issues generally resolve within 72 hours. You will be asked to avoid exercising during this time. This is just a precautionary measure to reduce overall bruising and swelling. You can resume regular daily activities after your KYBELLA® treatment.

KYBELLA® now allows patients to lose the double chin without surgery. While submental liposuction is still a great plastic surgery option in our practice, KYBELLA® is the first FDA approved non-surgical treatment to remove specific fat deposits and improve neck contour. After KYBELLA®, patients have reported improvement in their self-esteem, including feeling younger, less embarassed, and less overweight based on their chin profile.

ARE THERE SIDE EFFECTS OF KYBELLA®?

KYBELLA® can cause serious side effects, including trouble swallowing and nerve injury in the jaw that can cause an uneven smile or facial muscle weakness.

The most common side effects of KYBELLA® include: swelling, bruising, pain, numbness, redness, and areas of hardness in the treatment area.

KYBELLA® COST

The price of KYBELLA® injections is dependent on the number of injections needed, along with the number of treatment sessions required to achieve the patient’s fat-reduction goals. Cost is not covered by health insurance providers, since this is a purely cosmetic treatment.
